這首歌是由英國另類搖滾天團Coldplay (酷玩樂團)在2000年所發行的首張專輯中的歌曲。描述主唱 Chris Martin曾經無悔付出的一段戀情。
這張專輯上市後立即受到廣大樂迷的喜愛。尤其這首Yellow，不但Coldplay因此一炮而紅，在各國也有許多翻唱版本。新加坡歌手蔡健雅翻唱過，也經常被選秀節目的選手選唱。
主唱 Chris Martin曾在受訪時提到這首歌的背景，提到錄製專輯的某一晚，星空美得出奇，不禁令他哼起這旋律。至於為何歌名是Yellow，他則誠實回答，其實 “Yellow” 並沒有任何意義。只是在存檔時，因手邊有本電話簿(英文稱為”yellow pages”)，而隨機取的檔名。後來填詞時，卻發現不管他填上甚麼詞，都不及”Yellow”來得順口。於是一首閃耀神秘光彩的搖滾名曲就這樣誕生了。
